What thickness of glass is used for office partitions.
For any large partition, we always use 12mm Tempered and Polished Glass. For smaller areas we can sometimes use 10mm Tempered as well.
What kind of sound isolation can I get with frameless glass?
All glass doors are not too effective at mitigating sound. We do require gaps to ensure the function of the doors which does allow sound to pass though. However for the areas around doors we can use laminate glazing which is much better at reducing sound transmission. Or if you need very large sound isolation we can use a framed system with double or triple glazed units.
How do I know if I need engineering?
If the project is permitted then most likely you will need engineering. if you’re unsure please contact your inspector. Island Glass will always quote and install commercial partition systems with the expectation that the system needs engineering.
What kind of doors can I get?
Pivoting, sliding, telescopic or bi-parting, we have a solution for your project. We can also offer electronic locks with touch screens and swipe cards or biometrics for access.
What kind of lead time to office partitions and doors have?
Generally speaking you are looking at 2-4 weeks to turn around an office partition project.
