Island Glass was proud to contribute to the flagship retail property for Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC)—a bold, modern space that showcases premium interior design and commercial glass installations. This high-profile project demanded precision, collaboration, and technical expertise to deliver a sleek and seamless interior that reflects the MEC brand and enhances the customer experience.

We were fortunate to provide full interior glazing services across multiple sections of the building. Key features of our installation include:

• 12mm Tempered Laminated Glazing: Used extensively throughout the store for strength and safety, this high-performance glass provides both visual clarity and structural durability.
• Welded and Polished Top Cap Railings: These elegant and secure railings frame the mezzanines and staircases, allowing for open views across the multi-level space while offering safe support for high-traffic areas.
• Frameless Glass Guardrails: Installed along the steel and stone staircase and mezzanine levels, these clean, minimal glass panels create a light and airy environment, inviting customers to explore seamlessly between floors.
• Bike Maintenance Glass Wall: A custom steel and glass partition separates the bicycle repair and maintenance area from the rest of the retail floor, maintaining transparency and openness while also delineating space.
• Changeroom Mirrors and Interior Glass Detailing: Carefully installed mirrors and glass walls enhance the function and style of private areas like change rooms and fitting zones.

Our team ensured every element was carefully measured and installed to exacting standards, ensuring the glazing integrated perfectly with the store’s steel structure and modern interior finishes. The result is a dynamic retail environment that is both inviting and practical.
